Although in the past many regular drivers were not as familiar with log books as commercial truck and car drivers were, this is not the case nowadays as log books are becoming a must-have item in all car models. Due to this, growing number of drivers are starting to understand the purpose of a log book. Log book aside from containing important service information, it also tells drivers when a car needs to be taken for an auto check to avoid serious repairs. In other words, the log book is like a personal diary of a car. In this article we want to discuss and point out its benefits and downsides (if there are any) of a log book service. Honestly, there is a small portion of car owners that respect car repairs according to log books either due to not being enough informed or simply because they are ignorant.

As we mentioned above, log books are notebooks that hold important information regarding the condition of a car and when should regular checks be made. If it is a used car, driver still needs to take it to manufacturer auto shops and ask for regular service, if a car is still under warranty. Log book services are becoming even more flexible on where certain services can be performed as many local garage mechanics can obtain special authorization certificates for performing almost any log book service.

The best thing about having car repairs done according to log book service is that a car will stay at its peak performance and more serious problems will be avoided, saving owners large amounts of money they would have to pay for new parts. Not only will log book save money but also allows an owner to sell a car at an above average price.

Another reason why drivers need to always check their log books is because often majority forget when they need to change engine oil, air filters and other fluids. Because all this information is recorded in log books, just by checking them, drivers will know when they should visit an auto shop. However, skipping these small car repairs can cause a serious problems to the engine and thus diminish car’s performance.
