frappe coffee

If you are like most Australians, you love your coffee. In fact, about 19 million Australians drink coffee, which is 75% of the entire population. And there’s a very good reason for that – almost 60 per cent of Australians experience insomnia. No wonder why so many people associate good mornings with the smell of fresh coffee brewing or a quick trip to Starbucks before heading to work.

According to experts, a cup of coffee in the morning helps stimulate your brain and helps you become alert much faster than you normally would. How coffee does that though? The caffeine in coffee is what stimulates your whole body. In small doses, caffeine gives the heart a jolt, helping it to pump blood faster. The result of that is an increased blood flow reaching the important areas of your body, therefore getting more oxygen and feeling more alert. So, every time you want to skip that morning grogginess phase, a cup of coffee will do wonders to keep you mentally alert and stimulated throughout the day.

But which coffee to drink? We’ve all been there standing in a line in a Starbucks not knowing what to order because we’re not quite sure what the difference between americano and latte really is. And all because coffee drinks have come a long way. Today, there are over 30 types of coffees and with all the variations, flavours, milk and froth added to morning java, even if you’re not a big fan of the drink, you’ll surely become one.

Take frappe for example. It’s probably one of the most customisable drinks. With different coffee flavours (vanilla, espresso, chocolate), syrups and toppings that can be added to it, this drink can easily be made to fit anyone’s taste preferences. No wonder it gained worldwide popularity in the late 1990s and it’s still rocking the coffee scene today.

Unfortunately, with the on-going battle with coronavirus, most people’s morning coffee stops at Starbucks have been put on hold. However, not all is lost for hopeless coffee lovers who can’t seem to start their day without that first sip of coffee in the morning. If you are one of them, you can learn how to make it at home.

What is Frappe Coffee?

Frappe is a tasty, foamy and refreshing iced drink that is often served with whipped cream and topping. Though frappe has been traditionally made with coffee, you can also make other flavourful frappe drinks with teas, chocolate or juices – the possibilities are endless. All you need is an instant frappe mix, milk or water, ice and a blender. And you don’t even have to go far to get a good quality frappe mix. Your local homebrew shops most likely carry different coffee supplies. When using a frappe mix, all you need to do is put some ice and milk into your blender and blend the mixture to your preferred consistency.

Just like milkshakes, frappes can be whatever flavour you want them to be. Coffee supplies shops generally stock a variety of flavours such as frappe vanilla, frappe double shot espresso, and frappe chocolate. But if you want to spice things up a bit, there is a range of flavouring syrups that you can choose from. The most popular ones are vanilla, caramel and coffee. And there are tons of different recipes you can try making at home. The following two are some of the most popular ones.
